wakesurfing
It is a sport where the person, mounted on a board similar to a surfboard but somewhat smaller, is dragged by a boat until it reaches a speed of between 12 and 15 km/h.
At that moment a sufficient wave will have been generated for the rider to release the rope and start surfing the wave. One of the reasons why this sport is so unknown is that the boat must be shaft driven to avoid the risk of reaching the propeller, which could occur with outboard or inboard motors.
